Leafs Acquire May from Anahiem

Toronto Maple Leaf GM Brian Burke announced today that the team had acquired 37 year old winger Brad May from the Ducks in exchange for a conditional 6th round pick in 2010.

“Brad will provide character, toughness, and he is a proven winner,” Burke said in a statement. “We look forward to the veteran leadership that he will give our team.” Anaheim already has a surplus of leadership and toughness on their team so it was an easy deal for them to make. May won't bring alot of offence to the team, as his carrer stats point out, he was never going to be a Lemieux or Gretzky. But even at 37 years old he would a good fit for the Leafs who are still going to be struggling to find an identity for the foreseeable future.
